I’ll get right to the good stuff…
Kate means “pure” and Annelise means “grace of God’s bounty.”
I picked out Kate for our girl name with baby #1 in 2005 and Annelise has been a favorite since I had a preschooler named Annelise in my AWANAS class in the 1990s. Plus Anne is a family name and mine and my mom’s middle name.
We love calling her Kate and the boys will come up and pat my belly and say, “Hi, Kate!” It’s precious.
24 weeks update
We hit six months! This was taken just shy of 24 weeks.
I’m definitely feeling the growth lately and I recorded almost 1″ in added girth within about nine days! I will often feel uncomfortable and like I’m stretching or can’t breathe. Then I look in the mirror and think, “Duh!! She’s growing!!”
24 weeks +1 day
You know they’re growing…and her movements are stronger and bigger and reach farther across and up my belly…but it’s weird to actually FEEL the growth, you know?
More and more people can tell I’m pregnant now but I can still dress in my normal clothes and people don’t seem to notice until I point it out. I am still wearing my normal jeans like in the photos above although I gave up my favorite skinny jeans because they just feel too constricting. Thankfully I have several other options including cool shorts and skirts.
I feel pulling across my belly if I exert myself so I’m trying to take it easy even though we’re in the midst of rearranging the house and setting up her “nursery nook.” I don’t feel that big yet so I have to remind myself to be careful.
Thankfully I’m staying inside a lot and the pool is heating up so I’m planning lots of inside time and pool time this summer.
It’s exciting to add to her registries and set up her space! We moved in the IKEA bookcase and the dresser and hutch so I’m adding pink to it.
The more baby stuff in the house, the better, because this still feels so surreal!
I’m enjoying this phase as we can see and feel her move and I still feel great and have energy. We just have to keep getting ready for our sweet KATE to join us!
