This is basically my online scrapbook and journal but it’s also for anyone else who would care to follow along!
I know the first week will become a complete blur very quickly!
So Kate came home about 27 hours after she was born. This was her coming home outfit.
We took this shortly before bed time. 1 day old!
Her first morning home, I pretty much held and nursed her all day. Heaven!
Dad got lots of time with her, too.
The cat checked her out. She’s still not too keen on the new human.
She pooped and peed and my milk started coming in.
Kate’s first milky face!
She has the best dad and he holds her every chance he gets! Milk drunk!
Day 2 pajamas.
I love these flamingo pajamas! She slept a ton on day 3, probably due to the good milk!
The pajamas didn’t survive a big poop so we switched to bees!
This outfit killed me.
These little crochet shoes were in a “baby girl” box for probably 15 years. They’re perfect on her tiny feet!
Mama needed a shower and the house was a bit busy so I tried Miss Priss in her bouncy seat and handed her this bunny I bought the day I found out she was a GIRL! Her holding and chewing it about killed me.
She also told everyone she was FOUR DAYS OLD! How cute is that?!?
Day 4 her umbilical cord fell off, too.
Day 4 meant cousins, aunts and an uncle visiting!
She’s grand-baby number five on my side. My brother and I each have two boys. Kate is the first girl for my parents!
She’s number 12 on my hubby’s side, here she is with the oldest cousin. There are now 8 boys and 4 girls. Another boy is due in December!
Waking up to this girl is so happy for me. There’s something about just the two of us starting the day that makes it feel like we’re the only two people in the world. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Day 5, she got to meet her Aunt Ha-Ha (it’s really Sarah but Andrew gave her that name when he was little and it stuck). This is my college friend who introduced me to her brother–now my hubby. She’s the reason we’re here!
Her oldest son giving Kate some love.
I took this just to capture her adorableness without the distraction of clothing! I know she’ll chunk up and we’ll marvel at how scrawny she was!
Kate’s newborn photo shoot was also on day 5! This was her midway through.
She changed into her “owl eating an ice cream” pajamas later.
Showing you 5 days old!
This was a big day! I actually got dressed and Kate went to Nana’s house for the first time for Life Group!
She wore her “I’m proof that God answers prayers” onesie my aunt Pam had made! Of course we coordinated her outfit to go with it.
The ladies prayed gratitude and blessing over her!
Look at her holding onto Nana’s finger.
Me and my baby girl!
She was pretty tuckered out. I can’t enough of this view!
Flamingo pajamas again!
DAY 7….ONE WEEK OLD
I was dying to get her one week picture on the fuzzy rug with the blocks and the headband! I love how it turned out!
I wanted some alert/eyes open shots for one week so we revisited a variation on the bees outfit in the natural light. I love these!
Day 7 ended with some sweet brother time in her bees onesie.
And some Mama time, too!
And thus concludes Kate’s first week earthside!
We could not be enjoying her any more than we are, we hardly put her down and I haven’t left home except for Life Group and she’s all the more content and happy for it! She gets more and more alert every day and is so easy-going and healthy. We are incredibly blessed and we are happy to be sharing this season of life with you!
